This project involved the development of a plan for the creation of a legal resource training centre in Hargeisa. The goal was to develop a unified services delivery model and the resource needs required to create a justice system training centre that could support the delivery of community justice services.

Activities:

• 3-day workshop for judges on judiciary matters.
• Established an office to collect all legal publications (laws, decrees, etc.) issued in Somaliland by Parliament or by Government authorities, in order to have a complete documentation of the legal activity in Somaliland.
• Translated all publications into English.
• Held refresher courses for judges and judiciary officers.
• Supplied basic equipment to the legal training center.
