JES AI Legal Help Chatbot

JES is leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to improve access to justice.

In 2025, we introduced a ChatGPT-powered chatbot to provide on-demand legal help information to British Columbians. Available on every page of FamilyLawInBC.ca, the AI chatbot uses legally reviewed content to provide answers to questions from the public. Designed to communicate in plain language, it helps users understand complex legal issues, explore their options, and navigate the next steps in their family law matter with confidence.

JES is now in Phase II development of the chatbot, expanding its knowledge base to include legally reviewed content from 12 BC websites. This will enable the JES AI chatbot to provide more comprehensive, accurate guidance across a wider range of legal topics.
