Ask JES Multilingual Legal Help Services
For more than 20 years, JES has provided the Court Information Program for Immigrants (CIPI). To better serve clients, we have gone online. JES now provides free multilingual legal help through our Ask JES platform! And we have rebranded CIPI as Ask JES Multilingual legal help services.
We are proud to provide personalized legal help to clients in English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Punjabi, Hindi, and French.
Every day, our multilingual legal navigators assist people with language or cultural barriers to justice by helping them understand legal terms and court processes, explaining legal documents, and more. Ask JES Multilingual also refers and accepts clients to and from other agencies to provide one-on-one support.
Ask JES Multilingual strives to meet British Columbians where they’re at, offering them live digital chat, phone, and text message options during our operating hours. When our offices are closed, people can leave an email, phone, or text message and receive a prompt response.
The Ask JES Multilingual team also provides legal education workshops and webinars on a range of topics including Cyber Safety, Contact with the Police, Fundamentals of Law, How to Write a Will, Introduction to Family Law, and Tenant Rights. Workshops and webinars are offered in English, Mandarin, Punjabi, and Hindi.
Multilingual British Columbians with legal questions can access Ask JES at LegalHelpBC.ca or by calling 1-877-875-8867. Our operating hours are weekdays from 11am—2pm.
