When COVID forced us indoors, our in-house digital team swiftly rose to the challenge. JES digital experts have created a wide variety of online resources to ensure that justice education remains accessible to all.

One of their most exciting creations is JESed—a digital education platform that offers almost 60 expert-led professional development courses for professionals in the justice sector.

JESed was designed using Open EdX, an open source learning management system created by educators and scientists at Harvard and MIT. Our diverse range of courses incorporate a blended learning approach, combining self-directed learning modules with live training sessions from leading justice experts to help participants put concepts into practice. The courses are produced in multiple languages, based on user needs. Participants also have the opportunity to engage in collaborative work with their peers and solve scenarios that they may encounter in their professional lives.

Following the successful launch, JES launched the JESed app for IOS and Android in 2021 to improve accessibility and enhance the experience of our participants. More than 1,400 justice professionals have now completed a JESed course to date.
