The project is integrating a human rights approach to sensitize persons in the justice sector on the vulnerability of these groups given the prevalence of sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) and economic abuse. It aims to increase access to justice and understanding of legal rights and obligations by Eastern Caribbean citizens. Funded by Global Affairs Canada, the project will build on previous regional initiatives by Canada by utilizing or scaling up innovative solutions to address SGBV and domestic violence such as specialised courts and mediation, supporting advocacy around sexual reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and integrating or addressing human rights issues or those of intersectionality in the justice system.
